5rd Historical Tour of the Savona Mountains (2023 edition)
The weekend of 9-10 November is fast approaching, the date of the 6th Giro dei Monti Savonesi Storico in Albenga , accompanied by the Sport Infinity medium regularity.
Two races in Liguria on the weekend of November 9 and 10. In addition to the 40th Rally della Lanterna, in those days in Albenga the sixth edition of the Giro dei Monti Savonesi Storico will be held, proposed this year as both a historic rally and a regularity race at medium speed, with the new name “Rally di Regolarità Auto Storiche” .
The first novelty that catches the eye in the Ingauna race is that, unlike previous years when it was held in the first weekend of November, it was necessary to postpone the date to the second, by virtue of the proximity to the fellow countryman Sanremo Rally Storico which will be held three weeks earlier. The formula will be along the lines of previous editions with a first day dedicated to checks and a prologue with a double passage on an unpublished special stage, probably taken from those of the Monti Savonesi of the 80s. On Sunday, however, the program offers the classic "Scravaion" and "Melogno" to be done three times.
Four validities assigned to the rally to which a fifth is added, that for the North West Regularity Cup relating to the average regularity rally. The protagonists of the TRZ of the First Zone are expected on the eight special stages of the 6th Giro dei Monti Savonesi Storico for the third of the four rounds of the ACI Sport Series; it will instead be the scene of the sixth appointment of both the Memory Fornaca and the Michelin Trofeo Storico and, finally, also the fourth and decisive for what concerns the Coppa 127 promoted by Pro Energy Motorsport.
The program
- Registration opens at 8am on Thursday 10th October , with registration closing at midnight on Monday 4th November.
- On Thursday 7th November from 6pm to 9pm and the following day from 8am to 12pm, it will be possible to collect the roadbook at the Sommariva Oil Museum in Albenga.
- For authorized reconnaissances of the route, you will have to wait until 8am on Friday 8th and they can be carried out until 8pm.
- Saturday 9th dedicated in the first part, from 8 to 12.30, to the sporting and technical checks: the first at the Manè Restaurant, the second in Piazza Corridoni in the area of the former fruit and vegetable market. Once the departure time is published, from 15.31 the cars will move from Piazza del Popolo towards the first special test that will then be repeated under the light of the additional headlights and at 20 the entrance to the reorganization park will conclude the first day.
- On Sunday 10th the cars will start the second part of the race starting at 7:00; there are six timed sections to tackle which, added to those of Saturday, will total 73.34 timed kilometres out of the 343.94 of the total route which will have its epilogue at 15:28 with the arrival in Piazza del Popolo and, following, the awards ceremony.

Important numbers that represent a reward for the great work of the organizing team, which in full synergy with the administration and local entities has built an event capable of generating attendance from all over Italy and an important economic spin-off outside the tourist season. Involvement of the territory, collaboration with associations and organization of collateral events in the days preceding the race make the Giro dei Monti Savonesi Storico a perfect model, but always ready to improve and take on new challenges.
